David Zadia is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music lives at the intersection of raw emotion and vivid storytelling. He picked up the guitar at ten and never put it down, teaching himself to play with nothing but determination and a deep love for music.

After relocating to Cape Town, David found his rhythm in the city’s eclectic music scene, performing anywhere he could, from open mic nights to bustling local markets. These intimate spaces helped him connect with listeners on a personal level and slowly build a loyal fanbase that grows with every performance.

His songs draw from a wide palette of influences: the lyrical genius of Bob Dylan and Taylor Swift, the melodic charm of The Beatles, the sincerity of Ed Sheeran, and traditional folk music from around the world. Whether it’s weaving in Arabian desert vibes, or classic Italian guitar work, David crafts each track like a short film, rich in mood, imagery, and emotion.

One of his proudest moments came with the release of Wishes in the Water, a track he wrote, recorded, and produced with Jamie Nelson. The duo also created the music video themselves, proof of David’s hands-on approach and unwavering commitment to his vision. The song eventually made it to the airwaves on RSG, marking a major milestone in his journey.

But David isn’t just a musician, he’s a storyteller in every sense. With a diploma in film acting from ACT Cape Town, he brings a theatrical edge to his performances, channelling his love for drama, literature, and cinema into everything he creates. When he’s not making music, he’s writing, filming, or diving into the ocean, his other great muse. On the other side of the creative spectrum, you can find David studying for his accounting degree.
